One last chance

So.............here's the deal.....I'm a very independent blk female. At one point I gave up on men but I still have a little bit of hope left. As I've never been real girly girl type most men don't seem to take me seriously. I've decided to try up here and I really am a fun person to be around I can never get to that point because men seem to be judgmental. So my question is, Is it me? or is it THEM? Whats the problem? Am I too independent or strong? I'm fairly confident and secure with myself but sometimes I think I'm too strong.(if that makes any sense).
